White or ivory card for wedding stationery

The Leaf Press offers a choice of white or ivory card for wedding stationery – with or without a textured surface. Sometimes customers are unsure which card they should go for. There isn’t a right or wrong – it’s entirely down to personal preference and fitting in with other wedding decorations – but the card surface does slightly affect the way certain colours look. To this end, here are some pictures of different colour combinations of The Leaf Press’s wedding favour tags to help with the choice of white or ivory card for wedding stationery.

Pastel colours work equally as well on white or ivory card, but will appear warmer on ivory card and fresher on white card.

Bold colours will appear a little bolder on white card.

Looking at this colour wheel, broadly speaking the top half can be said to be warm colours and the bottom half cooler colours.

Cool colours will appear a little more vivid on white card than they will ivory.

And warm colours will be more emphasised on ivory card than they will white.

I hope this helps but, as always, please do not hesitate to contact The Leaf Press if you would like further advice on whether to use white or ivory card for wedding stationery.
