Otley College workshops
Workshops planned at Otley College for the academic year 2011-12 include Book Making I, Book Making II, Introduction to Making Your Own Wedding Stationery and a new workshop, Christmas Gifts. Workshops take place between 10.00 am - 3.30 pm and cost £35 (plus a small materials charge). The Upstairs Gallery
A range of notebooks and notecards are available for sale at the fabulous Upstairs Gallery in Beccles, Suffolk, where you can see a range of paintings and craft work by a variety of artists. The gallery can be found in the centre of town, next to Lloyds Bank and opposite Twyfords.

Book Making I
|
A one-day workshop which will teach learners how to make three simple types of handmade book - a pocket accordion book, a wrap-around notebook and a book sewn with Japanese style stitching. The workshop introduces skills relevant to book making and all paper crafts, such as accurate paper folding, safe use of equipment and gluing without mess!

Book Making II
|
This one-day workshop follows on from Book Making I and will teach learners to make two handmade books using slightly more advanced techniques – a single-signature notebook and a journal with a long-stitch binding.

Christmas Gifts Workshop
|
This one-day workshop is ideal for those who would like to be able to make their own simple Christmas presents. Learners will make mini-notebooks, an accordion style photo album and a decorated photo frame. The workshop will use simple techniques and easily sourced materials so that learners will be able to produce Christmas gifts once home.

Wedding Stationery – Introduction to Making Your Own Stationery
|
This one-day workshop is for those who want to make their own wedding stationery and are looking for ideas and help with techniques. We will look at different designs and learners will make three types of invitations, a place card and a favours box. NB these will be samples only and not personalised for individual weddings. Wording, fonts and layout will be discussed and at the end of the day learners will receive a CD to take home with templates and other useful information.
